Bhoot Police to release on Disney Hotstar on September 17

After comedy Hungama 2 and real life action drama Bhuj The Pride of India,  Disney Hotstar today announced the release of horror comedy Bhoot Police on the streaming platform on September 17.

The streaming platform shared the news of release of the horror comedy on social media.

Releasing a brand new poster of the film,  that featured actors Arjun Kapoor,  Saif Ali Khan,  Jacqueline Fernandez and Yami Gautam,  Disney Hotstar said, '

Bhoot Police to release on Disney Hotstar on September 17




The makers of the film had earlier released the posters of the film introducing Saif Ali Khan as Vibhooti , Arjun Kapoor as Chiraunji., Jacqueline Fernandez as Kanika and Yami Gautam as Maya.

Produced by Ramesh Taurani and Akshai Puri and co-produced by Jaya Taurani, Bhoot Police features SaifAliKhan, Arjun Kapoor,JacquelineFernandez,, YamiGautam and Jaaved Jaaferi in key roles.

Directed by Pavan Kirpalani, horror comedy Bhoot Police was earlier scheduled for release on theatres next month.. However,  with continuing uncertainty on reopening of theatres amid the second wave,  makers of the film have decided to release it  on Disney + Hotstar.

Bhoot Police is the third film in recent weeks to announce its direct release on OTT amid uncertainty on reopening of cinema halls due to continued prevalence of the second wave of COVID-19 and looming threat of the third wave.

Earlier, producers of Hungama 2 also announced release of the film on OTT. due to uncertainty on reopening of theatres.

Directed by Priyadarshan's, Hungama 2, a sequel to the 2013 film Hungama, will be released on Disney Hotstar on July 23.

Producers of Bhuj The Pride of India have also announced direct release of the film on Disney Hotstar on August 13.

Trade sources say that amid uncertainty on reopening of cinemas,  makers of other upcoming films like 83 are likely to go for an OTT release.

83 was scheduled to hit theatres but it release had to be postponed due to uncertainty on reopening of cinema halls amid continuing threat of second wave of COVID-19.

Bollywood releases like Kartik Aryan starrer Dhamaka and Bhoot  Police  could also go for an OTT release if situation in the country does not return to normalcy soon.
